Bored with your look? Want to look chic and elegant? Short hair is back and on trend.
The A/W14 catwalk was awash with models sporting short haircuts, as seen at shows of some of the most notorious fashion houses. Although short styles aren’t ground-breaking news, this season brings a breath of fresh hair to a classic trend with a soft grown out pixie cut.
Here at L’Oréal Professionnel we want to help you have the courage to embrace the short hair trend and make the most of your short crop. We have asked our professional styling team to give us some great tips on achieving great styles for all occasions.
Day time…
Goodbye poker straight and ironed hair, hello natural smooth hair. This look is perfect for during the day, when you want a great look that doesn’t appear over-styled.
After washing, apply Tecni.ART Liss Control to towel-dried hair for added shine and a smoothing effect. Dry the undercut using a hairdryer and nozzle to direct the hair to sit in shape, always pointing the nozzle down and parallel to the hair and head. Using a paddle brush dry the top section of the hair by brushing forward and lightly to the side as you dry. This will remove kinks but also create movement at the roots.
Apply Tecni.ART Deviation Paste to the hair for a perfect finish.
Night time …
Night time is play time; try mixing it up with a different look.
To washed, towel-dried hair apply Tecni.ART Crepage de Chignon at the crown to help create volume. Dry the hair, pulling the hair forward towards the face. When the hair is 80% dry, split the front section of the hair into two sections. Using a round brush dry these sections backwards, adding heat to the roots to exaggerate volume. Brush the sides of the hair with a paddle brush, and use Tecni.ART Air Fix to keep the hair in place. For added texture and softness add Tecni.ART Metallic Gloss to finish.
